Leather Honing Strop - 8" x 3"

This Sharpal® strop is a premium vegetable tanned hide mounted on a sturdy Beech block with anti-slip feet. It comes with an angle guide to help you start your stroke at a consistent angle and green abrasive compound that will put the sharpest edge possible on your tools. Use the compound as the final step in sharpening.
The strop works by realigning the very fine edge of the blade and polishing the blade’s surface. After use or sharpening, the blade will have a slight burr. This burr is what catches when you attempt to cut. By stropping, the very fine edge of the blade will begin to align, while the compound polishes the edge. The angle guide will help you start your stroke at a consistent angle.
